In 1911, a first Siemens branch office settled in the city on the Danube. Today, around 1,400 employees work at two locations in Regensburg. The office in "Gewerbepark" supplies customers in the Oberpfalz area with products, service and solutions in the fields of electrification, automation and digitization. The plant "Gerätewerk" in the east of Regensburg has been producing high-quality protection components for electrical installations such as RCD's (residual current circuit breakers), circuit breakers and the innovative fire protection switch since 1948. The international headquarter of the Siemens Electrical Products Group is also located here, with approximately 20,000 employees in 15 countries. Around 500 apprenticeships in technical and commercial professions - also for other companies - make Siemens one of the largest training companies in the region.
